They're all looked down upon by macho men, told they don't belong in a real man's world and should stick to their own hobbies (sewing and video games or whatever) and ultimately pushed around in middle and high school
Seeing someone cry about people being unfair to them makes more sense for women, but nerdy guys will whine about anything, so it makes sense for them to follow suit
If feminism wasn't a thing, I guarantee that nerds would complain about Nerd bias at some point
