A couple years ago there was another website called DDWorld(.org) which was sort of working on becoming its own mirror community to Kametsu. I remember the guy running it was named DawnShadow. I hope he is still around, because having a place like Kametsu is very useful. I don't mind posting in these threads when I have content, but having a forum I can search, post, and browse at leisure is more convenient.
More generally, has anyone else thought about building a replacement to Kametsu? One that is more robust against take-down demands. Using WebTorrent (now implemented by all major browsers), and BIP updates 0039 and 0046 which allow for torrent contents to be updated live without needing a new torrent file, I sort of imagine you could build a nearly 100% webtorrent based website. (And conveniently shifting most responsibility away from a host, since it's all in DHT torrent-space.) Not using it for torrents, since webtorrent is basically seamless and users don't even know it's not a regular website. You should be able to publish threads with direct download links + images and descriptions just like on a forum thread. Though I am not sure how community interaction would work
I have no idea how technical that would all be. And I've never seen a website make sure of WebTorrenting and the new Updatable-Torrent feature. But again, it would be incredibly robust.

>>105769814Unfortunately one must trawl through about 4-times as many DC/Marvel comics threads with mega links and about 12-times as many RWBY threads. I only looking for western cartoons. The Archive search doesn't let you specify "NOT this content" like "NOT RWBY". It's a pretty primitive search system at best, sadly. But I don't disagree it has some uses.
