>>105731788You don't want Woke Daria
Woke Daria has all of the attitude she used to have, but that means all of the same insecurities
Daria was good because it was sort of shitting on everyone during a time culture really began to expand to include various different cliques
There were the typical jocks, nerds, outcasts, but there were also fashion bitches, preps, goths, early-art hoes, not to mention the several other culture groups that were popular at the time that weren't necessarily shown in the cartoon
In this manner, Daria is breaking down social constructs that form based on things like "what you like to buy" or "the status quo of education"
Imagine Daria breaking down social constructs like the patriarchy and gender
It would read as a non-nonchalant political cartoon where the main character is the calm and cool party that is always right and literally anyone she turns her attention to is crazy and radicalized
I'm not saying Daria being a woke feminist would necessarily paint her as a shewomyn manhater, or even incorrect, it would just come off as annoying and Daria is supposed to be cool
Ironic disinterest in life is too common nowadays for it to be anything but cliche, a teenager making fun of people for thinking their way of life is solely up to them happens on twitter every god damn day
