Like, they've entered the culture lexicon, but for the most part we only view their songs as good because for the most part the generation that grew up with them is now one of the oldest and the largest, so its hard to escape their songs, making them classics in the eyes of anyone young enough to have imprinted on them

The only difference is that there's 100x more music available now, so their cultural impact is staggered differently
Imagine there being 20x less options to listen to music and every 10 minutes some girl asked to listen to the beatles, because there were proportionally just as many girls trying to listen to what is the most popular song because so many girls are asking to listen to it
Paul McCartney realizes that he at the very least needs to appeal to this generation because his generation basically couldn't listen to music if they wanted
