>>105625197>>105625452>i have often mused that many if not all of our problems would be solved if people could all read each others' minds.Something like that was the plot to -the criminally underrated and painfully obscure- Wii game "Fragile Dreams Farewell Ruins of the Moon". Basically:
A large group of Parapsychologists finally discover how to consistently activate humanities psionic abilities, specifically telepathy, and announce they'll be jerry-rigging the Tokyo Tower into a massive radio tower to broadcast the PSI activation noise to everyone in the country. This turns into a HORRIBLE mistake as people are simply not ready to read one another's minds... And worse yet: excessive psionic energy causes people to spontaneously die in their sleep AND return as ghosts. You play as the boy in pic related. Your Grandfather has just died, immediately becomes a fucking ghost, and you're forced to re-kill him so he'll stay dead. With no family; you venture off to make sense of this.. empty, sad, miserable, world.. And boy oh boy.. Is it ever sad and miserable in such a "it's all over" kind of way.
Great fucking game though. Can't recommend it enough. It also has one of the best adolescent gay romance sub-plots I've ever seen in a game. Was completely unexpected, but holy shit was it ever simultaneously sad and completely sensible.

The remaining people in that country ended up completely isolating themselves from other Humans so they could silence the constant noise.
