>>105618241I don't disagree that the finale didn't shit on Finn but the thing you're specifically complaining about was fine to me. Finn DIDN'T give up, he beat against that wall long past the point of reason, he didn't just resign himself to die like Simon and Betty did- that feels like what S1 Finn would do. And him eventually being resigned and sad, which was a lot more effective in the cut storyboard for the episode where he said he never thought he would die without Jake, worked well for me too.
S1 Finn wasn't all powerful or anything, that's how he would've responded to that situation too. But you are also right that
>He could have at least offered a solution or tried thinking of something. Instead he just fucking sits there silently while Betty figures out what to doIs shit and Finn really should've done something, anything more while in there. The fact that him going inside GOLB impacts nothing at all is lame as shit and the main reason I hate the fucking finale so much: Finn does nothing for half of it and even the stuff he does in the rest aren't particularly cool or impressive.
Fern's redemption wasn't that amazing and it was very expected, and while I could get down with Finn wanting to prevent a war and actually being wiser than PB for once the way he did it was fucking annoying. It's super lame seeing Finn just whine at PB until she eventually gives in instead of doing something cooler, or more bold, or anything else.
Anyway, Finn inside GOLB was pretty bad but the main thing you're complaining about was fine enough to me personally.
