>>105552351Popular characters or whoever is the editors or a star writers' favorite character. Marvel pushes a lot of characters who aren't that great, aren't A-listers and don't have good sales only because people in Marvel Comics like them and want them to succeed.
It's kind of like how once Jeph Loeb left to do TV shit Sam Alexander was immediately thrown off the bus. Once Cates leaves cosmic the same shit will happen to Cosmic Ghost Rider.
>>105551758He was in Duggan's Infinity Wars and Infinity Countdown but Duggan can't write him for shit and just used him for exposition purposes.
As a matter in fact both Adam and Thanos are characters most writers can't properly write. Thanos because he's just reduced to a tug who just loves violence and killing. He loses his Machiavellian personality, his scientific curiosity, the things that make you feel sorry for him without trying to excuse him. The only writer who is currently at Marvel who has written an interesting Thanos is Al Ewing.
All of what you said you liked about Adam Warlock is also absent when other writers use him.
>>105553189I think in his new Infinity books the whole story with the alt Adam it was mostly a story about the two, but yeah, can't deny Thanos is the fav now and it may be because he was his OC even before he worked at Marvel.
But it's not like it matters now, Brevoort chased Starlin off and Marvel doesn't care. Which is funny because they have been not caring about him even at the height of Thanos' popularity, and they really haven't been advertising his stories, yet when they were filming Infinity Wars and Endgame the Russos went to his facebook and inviting him on set and now Starlin is one of the few who knows stuff about Endgame and I bet he knows more than the people in Marvel Comics (which are pretty much now shunned by Marvel Studios).
