Pyrrha is Salem's daughter and was meant to develop her own route to obtaining the maiden powers should Cinder fail. This is why she has that moment in the elevator where she's alone and happy with the progress she's made with Ozpin. You'll be given lots of flashback scenes that fill in the gaps to explain how and what she was doing and how her feelings change over the course of the first few seasons. As for her "death" Cinder isn't in on this, this is a "The pawns need not concern themselves with the matters of Queens" deal. So how did her "death" work? I was not told but I imagine she dunked her in the God of Light's waters at some point so she would never experience the loss of another child again, I have only seen stuff where Salem and Pyrrha are talking and not this act so I can't say for certain. I don't know if it was her idea to live among the populace or Salem's, I can't really field any questions due to the limited info I know, I can add though that Salem does seem to care about her from what I saw.

You can really feel the amount of money being poured into this compared to usual, goddamn.

The twist was nice, kinda guessed it but I’m pleased they went as far as they did with it. And the fight choreography in the hall was good. The evil troopers who just stand out in the open being evil then get shot is a bit lame though.

the only thing annoying about Gen Lock is how they make everything somewhat grounded in reality, but the pilots in E01 are pulling moves that would drain all the blood from their brain and make them blackout.

I will say this, cammie is best girl.

But seriously, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that it's hard to waifulize the female characters on the show. Personally, I think it'll help cut down on shippingbait and waifubait which tend to distract from the main plot, but at the same time I enjoy both of those things a lot.

Side note: For being the main character, Chase didn't really seem very protagonist-like these first few episodes. Maybe that's because we're getting introduced to all the new characters. David Tennants performance was A1 on this though. True star of it.

He's probably just not used to voice acting. It's a lot different from regular acting. He's used to being able to see all his cast members and seeing the set, that helping him get in character and provide better emotion. Now he's in a recording studio reading a script with nothing really to gauge how he should be saying things aside from the voice director. That's why Phantom Menace was able to get such good actors who came out as bland, too much CGI and poor direction pretty much left them not knowing how to really say their lines because they're not really aware of how the scene is supposed to be feeling.

Im hoping Michael B. Jordan starts improving and learning from his fellow cast members on how to be a better VA.

Also that Colonel Raquel Marin's voice is annoying, I hate that stupid accent. RT needs to stop doing fake hispanic accents in their shows. I'm hispanic and live in Tejanoville and nobody I know sounds as stupid as that.
