The damaged is irreparable by this point. Long gone is the sympathetic Bruce Wayne that adopted Dick Grayson so he wouldn't disgrace his life going on a path of vengeance and blood, trying instead to show the boy there was a better path for him to deal with his outrage and rage. A path of justice. Thus turning Dick Grayson into a better man. No, current Bruce Wayne is a fuck-up who preyed on a traumatized kid who conditioned and trained him to know nothing but rage and violence, which messed with the kid for life, with Dick Grayson only being a good man because of his earlier healthy upbringing, which even helped Bruce be less of a monster thanks to their interactions. Now making it so it was Dick who saved Bruce from an even darker path.
That's how DC sells the relationship between Batman and the Robins/Batgirls. Batman was turned into the antagonist for them all to fight against when trying to striking on their own. This constant overbearing presence that they will never be able to truly get rid off and that doom their lives to a never-ending cycle of violence and tragedy. Batman's the bad guy now. Sometimes more insane than the rogues he fight against.
But if you ask if any other DC character is like that as well for pulling much of the same stuffs, they will do a double-take. That's why i almost feel vindicated by Tom King's Heroes in Crisis. Now every DC hero is as fucked up and crazy as Batman has been portrayed thus far. I love the cries.
