>>105266108She made Pug Davis and a handful of other high quality short comics in the late 2000s. In 2010 Pendleton Ward met her at zine fair and was impressed by her art, and invited her to take a board test for Adventure Time. She passed and became a storyboarder from Season 2 onwards. Adventure Time was an insanely hot property at the time, and episodes that she boarded were very popular here on /co/ and in the animation industry in general, and this is really the beginning of Sugar's entry into mainstream animation discussion.
Ian on the other hand became famous in the early 2000s with RPG World, one of the most popular early webcomics, although he created a number of other lesser known webcomics like Dash Breakneck. He went to school at SVA, where he created Nockforce, and also met Rebecca Sugar at this time period, and they've been an item since. In the late 2000s Ian worked on a few shows, Venture Bros, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, and doing voicework for Bravest Warriors. He was brought onto AT in Season 3, not as a board artist but as a storyboard supervisor. He left AT with Sugar when Steven Universe was greenlit, and boarded several early episodes before settling into a supervisory role, although he would eventually leave once OK KO was greenlit.
As far as power couples go they're tremendous, both insanely talented artists who have worked hard to make quality cartoons. I've been a fan of Ian since the RPG World days, and own a print version of it. I've been a fan of Sugar's since the around 2007-8, when her comics like Chubby Mary and the Simpsons one were regularly posted on /co/.
