Problem here is the writing of Dick back then was far too on the nose, and this series looks (at the moment) like its going to that same too far into edge-grim-angst to make anyone care as well. Hopefully the writing picks up but, let's face it, the series is taking heavy inspiration from the Snyder led DC style and that's been a poorly written flaming shit-show, so no-one should get their hopes up.
