first season was so entertaining and it made me so curious and hyped up how were they going to top it since it was very well made stand-alone story.

Unfortunately it went downhill immediately, like diarrhea all over your face.

uuhhh.... no. it was totally opposite. Also I don't remember the whole series very well now but that one season about combat for spirit world portal was fucking useless and felt like a filler overall. It literally left no impact over the series despite some spirits appearing here and there in the background and foreground for decoration.
