Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales were the first western cartoons publicly and legally aired in Russia after the end of the cold war. Then suddenly there's a whole series with animation way fucking better than almost anything you've probably ever seen. It has a continuity that continues from episode to episode. It has a wide cast of varied, lively characters that aren't shoving messages about how great the state is down your throat all the time. It has a massive world full of danger and adventure and mystery and any number of things cartoons previously aired in Russia often lacked. Though most of all it had a cute, smart waifu mouse. Kids ate that shit up like day old bread in the communal bread line. Though who can blame them. Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales enjoyed massive, massive popularity in the crumbling soviet union that endures to this day. So years later in the early 2000's, after growing up in said crumbling union some Russian Autismos banded together and made a cult to worship Gadget Hackwrench. Though it really seems like more of a fanclub than a cult if I'm being honest. And that's where those pictures of the guys with the gadget banners come from. Russian waifu cult/club.
