Definitely won't bomb, it'll be at least as big as the Captain America movies. It's got an extremely high safety net due to a variety of factors.
Whether their obviously ridiculously huge investment pays off and it turns into a massive Iron Man/GotG/Ragnarok/Black Panther level hit will depend on the quality of the film.>>105031432
The feminist angle I have no problem with, the character was literally created for that purpose. It's the pretense of a notoriety/legacy that doesn't exist which feels really forced, like they think if they keep saying that this character is as important and iconic to both IRL feminism and the fictional universe as WW that people will eventually believe it, and I have a feeling most people outside of fan bloggers will see right through that.
I generally believe that Marvel has no fear of DC's success and would feel no resentment, since competition doesn't actually matter that much outside of fanboyism, but I get this distinct feeling there's a jealousy of WW in particular for some reason, like they're mad that it made them look like they felt a female lead movie was too big a risk or something, and that WW's claiming of this important spot makes Carol less likely to replace RDJ like they hope.
