Vampire is a mechanical mess with an intriguing premise and a lot of social power dynamics that can intrigue a young girl's mind, while promoting abusive behavior.
I will agree that SR is a damn fine system in its 5th edition, though. Just a ton of scattered content randomly shat onto the pages to make it nigh-impossible to understand in full context without reading the entire book cover to cover with a damn good memory to make all the connections.
Call of Cthulhu for example is however a much more accessible option that also allows the GM to have a life that's not only fine-tuning a building's security and authorities response between sessions.
Which is in my opinion far too much work on the shoulders of a GM, especially a newcomer.
