I was watching TV and saw this. It is a cutesy Brazilian cartoon based on the pop star Anitta of all people.

Sounded like "pretinha" to me, that is an affectionate way to call someone of dark skin (literally "little black") but some PC and SJWs find it offensive and I don't think it was really that first because they don't want more trouble and second because it is usually used on much darker skin tones and she isn't even the darkest skin tone in the group. I think "Anitinnha" would be ok translation I think.

I'm guessing it means this but you are free to make changes that would fit better in English even if not totally accurate:

Here is the first episode. Not sure if it should be considered an episode, the real like celebrity show the characters before turning into her cartoon self and sing a song. Only 2 min long unlike the other episodes where they are 5-6 min.

Not sure if it would be better translate this before the others or leave it last as it doesn't really have any story on it.

For context: Brazilian politics is much worse than US. We have politicians working in the congress that if they step outside Brazil they will be arrested by Interpol. For around 14 years the government was in the hands of a party that identifies itself with the left (openly friends with castro and all that) and the main party that opposed them in the past was identified as right by the left supporters even if it was actually founded as a left party, fought the right wing dictatorship in the past and now is more a center party. The party who claimed to be left and was in power until recently have been fucking things up until people got full of it and went on the opposite direction. That is when the current president comes in. He is a more right wing than most politicians here closer to Trump (even Bannon hilself said that) so we had our Brazilian Trump and Anitta was against him.

To be fair our options were awful and doesn't mater who got ellected things will go down the hole cause the damage already was done before the ellections.

Thanks and yeah, is just that "sleep time" sounded a little weird to me. And you know, at first I recognized the line was about resting, but the more I heard it the more it started to sound different, to even listening "forget".
Anyway, thanks for the help, I wouldn't mind translate the rest of the episodes if people like them and you are helping me with a few lines. "agita" means literally "shake" It is what is writen on medicine, juice, etc
there is no harm in having it as "party" just telling you in case you didn't know.

Actually, I knew. I have the lyrics of the songs, or I would need your help for all of them. Shake felt just kinda wrong for me, so I changed it to party. Also I changed the second line of the chorus "you can play" to "you will have a blast" because in the first line she says play, although as brincar instead of jogar, but I didn't want to repeat the word.
For tomorrow's I won't need help with the translation, but I think I better write down all the lines I need help with for the next episodes. I need help specially in the English episode and the fake Anittinha episode.

For future reference there are 3 usual terms for "to shake" "agitar", "sacudir" and "chacoalhar". "agitar" is used for the movement on drinks but also on people partying/dancing (agita galera!) or on energetic kids (aquela menina é muito agitada/that girl is too energetic)

When you shake someone to wake him up or bring to his senses you can use the terms "sacudir" or less often "chacoalhar". "sacudir" is also used for dancing vigorously but not on small objects you can pick up. Usually it involves the whole body. "chacoalhar" is also used for the whole body like a bus in a bumpy road but not much in the positive sense like in dancing.

That's interesting. I get what it means now, but I already used jump too in that line. I mean, is interesting to know what it actually meant, but I think that is still well done as "we will have a blast". Also, it's too similar to the Spanish verb for "to play": jugar.

About "jogar" it is also used as "to play" in portuguese. "jogar video game" (play video game), "jogar bola" (play ball) but also as throw/toss "jogar fora" (throw away) or "jogar cafe na cara" "splash coffee in the face", the Brazilian version of splashing tea in the face as a form of offense/aggression.

There are also non-literal uses like "jogar na cara" that literally means "throw in your face" but actually means to tell things (usually uncomfortable truths/name calling) in a tactless way usually in an aggressive tone.

So "pode se jogar" means "you can throw yourself" literally but have the meaning that I already explained.
