Her dad is the worst human being in the entire show (aside from Dil, but that's because the writers went on to turn him into an inexplicable Messiah) who lords his material superiority over his friends, family and meanwhile spoils her. He even stopped trying to make her eat vegetables because of a bullshit dream he had where Angelica took him to court over it, all the while insisting that he's a good parent. He's not. He will never have a moment of self reflection where he comes to terms with his own bullshit, never admit that he was an asshole who foisted care of his daughter (and HIS OWN FATHER) off onto his younger, less financially stable brother all the while acting like he was superior.
And on the other side, Angelica's mom is a career obsessed workaholic who could in theory be a decent caregiver if she bothered to pay attention and discipline her child/impart proper care more than one time in the whole series when Angelica endangers herself playing with a modular display. But instead she works all the time, probably didn't even bother with proper maternity leave past however long she could walk on her own two feet again, and kept going this way until she had that awful breakdown ten years later. Ten. Fucking Years.
AGU Angelica was right. her parents don't give a shit about her, they wanted a child for appearance's sake.
