When teen Magik sent her past self back to the present to negate her very existence, Belasco was waiting in the shadows and pulled a spell off restoring her body and mind from the energy produced when she "destroyed herself". Because energy can't be destroyed or some shit.
The catch was that Magik 2.0 had no soul and was pure Darkchylde. She has all of Magik's memories but no soul. Which was why she took a piece of Pixie's soul to fill the void inside of her and why she didn't immediately rejoin the X-Men
