>>104164990Yeah I refuse to watch Korra so I have no idea what you're talking about. I will agree that most stuff in that ship are just total cringefests that make Azula a Stronk 1 Dimensional Mary Sue and Sokka a joker with no character depth whatsoever.
>>104164830The only one I can currently think of for Sokkla is a fic called "Gladiator
>+ decent world building>+ original story.Doesn't just retell the show with some minor divergence
>+original characters are unique and decently written to the point of being more than just plot devices>+/- takes place a few years in the future from the canon timelineSo all characters are aged up a few years, but you can selectively ignore this fact if you want since it's hardly ever referenced
>-Azula becomes a bit of a Mary Sue.It's not too bad relative to other fics but she does get a bunch of goodies and cool shit that no one else does, for reasons that mostly boil down to "author thought it would be cools". Once again it's not too egregious by fanfic standards but it is noticeable.
>-the romance drags on after awhileIf you like Romance novels, then this is a positive, but I don't. I'm into action and political intrigue with the Romance being used to flesh out characters in the background. This story has the ship as one of the central themes so the romance plays a pretty heavy role in the narrative, which I got bored with. Not necessarily a negative depending on your taste though.
>-it follows the "capture" trope where Sokka gets captured by the fire nationNot bad on it's own, but it it has become one of the single most overplayed tropes in the fandom at this point
>-/+ Holy Shit the lengthIf you like long stories then this is the one for you. This fic has close to 2 million words. That's not exaggeration, I just checked the story's page. It's official word count is 1,914,000+.
Other fic to check is "Traitor's Face". Could not reccomend that one enough. Very well written. Literally a story as good as the show
