It sold me on Scott Lang, an average person, as a hero in the Marvel Universe. I also think that is one of the most rewatchables, because of the general atmosphere and how likeable everyone is on the film, I would even argue that the Ant-Man films in general have the best supporting cast.
Not everything has to be vital to the grand scheme, even then its payoff has yet to come but I think that the biggest payoff was getting to know about Marvel's smallest hero. It's just a good self contaied story with heart, fun and the action.
The second movie was better in certain aspects but worse in others making it a decent sequel that feels like more of the same, here is me hoping for another one the absolutely surpasses the first two because I'm an absolute ANTSfag.
