>>104003149As for abortion, Early Jews and Christians view abortion as sinful, and in Old Testament punishments are given to those that forced a miscarriage:
"And if men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him; and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life." (Exodus 21:22-23)
There are also various references of biblical authors claiming Yahweh considers life begins at conception. See verses Job 31:15, Isaiah 44:2, Luke 1:15, and Galatians 1:15. If life begins at the womb, most cases of abortion are seen as murder to Yahweh.
In fact, Didache, one of the earliest Christian writings concerning the early Christian community, dated at the first century, lists the commandments against abortion, along with murder, adultery, corrupting boys, sexual promiscuity, theft, magic, sorcery, infanticide, coveting, perjury, false testimony, speaking evil, holding grudges etc.
