The PG-13 cut of The Black Cauldron

For those that don't know, Disney's The Black Cauldron had about 12 minutes forcibly cut at the last moment. Jeffrey Katzenberg, against the wishes of the animators, removed any footage he found to be too obscene or adult-oriented for the movie.
Some cuts include:
>Taran killing henchmen with the magic sword as they escape the castle
>Eilonwy having her dress torn and being partially nude as they escape from the castle.
>A shot of the Horned King with his cloak billowing behind him
>A much longer sequence with the Fair Folk, containing much needed exposition and explaining what happens to Hen Wen.
>The Horned King sacrificing a live person to raise his army of the dead, hence the blood shown seeping out of the cauldron in the movie.
>the Cauldron-Born brutally killing the horned king's minions, including the infamous melting shot (as scene in the youtube link)
>scenes of the Cauldron-Born attacking a nearby village, to raise the stakes as our heroes try to stop the Black Cauldron's power. Supposedly there's a shot where a villager gets cut in half.
>extended climax where Taran grabs the Horned King's cloak and pushes him towards the cauldron to be sucked in, this was cut because it made it look like "the hero was murdering the villain"

Supposedly producer Joe Hale still has a black and white negative of the uncut movie on VHS.
Why isn't /co/ trying to get this released?
