I couldn't get into the JL series that much partly because of this. He jobs non stop as he's massively, distractingly repowered. I know it's my fault for caring, but it just always seemed wrong.

The problem with supes isn't even a powerlevel one, it's the goody two shoes hero of earth alien thing that is so god damned boring in 80% of his own stories. Literally everyone he works with or fights against has way better characters, backstories, and even alter egos.

Justice League Superman was pretty damn inconsistent. In one episide, he gives his whole "world made of cardboard" speech and is a nigh invincible super god pretty much out of nowhere. In another, he gets knocked out by basic shit like op mentioned. How am I supposed to reconcile this? Because it really seems like he is either invincible or vulnerable depending on what the plot demands at the time.
