STAS is by the whole more consistent than BTAS, but the highs of BTAS are higher than STAS. The experience from the first show made this one better. The Late Mr. Kent is a top 5 DCAU episode.

I love how natural the dialogue is in Superman TAS. Lois, Clark, and Lex all have really real feeling dialogue even when talking about silly cartoon stuff. the acting in BTAS is much more melodramatic which makes it harder to feel for the characters as people. Turpin's death feels much more of a gut punch than any of the emotional moments in BTAS .

Superman was more interesting after the series because he was dealing with the fallout of the Apokolips invasion.

Basically the last thing to happen in the show set up his most interesting character development, which took a completely different series to play out.
