Easy, they disregarded 2d animation for cgi for all animation movie projects instead of some and then it just felt cheap.

At least that's how I viewed most cgi animation. Sure I'm sure the stories and songs were good of some projects but a large barrier for me is that animation style they refuse to get away from. And its weird they know willingly about the renaissance of Disney films but refuse to attempt to imitate it again.

Some of the old Disney films might have been more all-family oriented, but girls were always the ones who bought all the merchandise. Boys might have bought a some of the video games but then word got around that they sucked.

They've turned off an INCREDIBLY loud minority of trolls, their signal boosted tremendously by help from Breitbart, the Daily Stormer, and lots of others who don't really give two shits about Star Wars, but who have a vested interest in spreading the message: "Feminism is anti-fun."

I wasn't thrilled by the recent Star Wars movies, but mostly because they were more comedic than I wanted them (a problem with the prequels too).
But the problems didn't have to do with ZOMG SJW NPC WYMYN being the stars as opposed to anyone else.

To sum up the events that lead to what Disney is now:
Walt died, company almost died with him. After years of shaky and downward progress. Eisner, Katzenberg, and Roy E. tried to save it. It succeeded for a while. Then the 3D craze happened in the late 90s/2000s, they flailed between 2D and 3D while having an identity crisis on what type of movies they wanted to make. And all this at the same time the company was slapping the Disney logo at the beginning of those Saturday morning cartoon movies, the ones clambering to the silver screen to chase that Rugrats movie money. Disney was in a rut for the entire 2000s, then Lasseter came in and got it back on it's feet, once the company was on it's feet and making billions the shareholders and execs haven't had any reason to change their formula in the last 10 years so they are currently stagnating along with the rest of Hollywood.

In other words it's the equivalent of a dancing corpse right now.

Walt had direction and vision, and without it, Disney just became a soulless animation factory. While 90's Rennaisance works might be popular, Disney will not regain the same level of artistry it had while the Walt was still alive. Going from creating animation inspired by German expressionism to animated Broadway musicals is quite a big downgrade.

They should hire better animators and writers for their 2D shows. Spectacular Spiderman, Ironman Armored Adventures, and Wolverine & the X-Men were much better than the current shows now.

As for the movies, I wish they'd make serious rated R superhero films or adult animation. No more sequel bait with Pixar when the idea team makes a rehash of the old movie. (Finding Dory/Incredibles 2)

Also upgrade Disney and make a dedicated /v/ department. All modern Disney games suck. Instead of spending billions on Star Wars toys. Dedicate on making games based off animated movies. I can't believe they ruined Battlefront and Marvel vs Capcom. They even revived Club Penguin and killed it with a reboot.

And one more thing that ruins Disney is over depending on the Lego series to make games. It's cheap as hell and looks terrible.

A lot of the cartoon movies anon was talking about were based on shit like Recess (A good series), Disney's Doug, and even fucking Teacher's Pet... and these were released to theaters. While it worked for Rugrats, the novelty of a feature theatrical film based on a TV show wore off quickly, especially when a good many of them eventually were based on shows that barely had any following. Shit got so bad that Disney had to almost give up 2D animation for a good 5 years until Princess and the Frog, and inbetween they focused way too much on the teenage girl market with faggy shit like High School Musical and Hannah Montana, which they eventually made theatrical films for, before those franchises died forever, which is no loss, they aged like fucking milk compared to the fine wine of Disney's past animated features.
2005-early 2009 was a horrible time to be a Disneyfag, or even a cartoonfag in general really.
