The animation is pretty poor - there's clearly been a lot of work put into every frame, but there's not much work put into making sure they works as an animation, so it looks really jerky and makes you go "Well what was the point on animating that? This could have been made in South Park's style and not lose anything".
The biggest example of this is that car clip, where the spiderboy is constantly moving around in the car. There's no reason WHY he keeps moving, and the animation isn't fluid, but he just... moves. Sliding around like the chair is made of ice, and emoting with his hands so much it makes Italians jealous.
But worse than that is the writing. So far, in the clips, the writing has all been... well, crap. Basically every attempt at something witty has fallen flat, and that's a big problem, since it seems like the kind of show that's based entirely about being witty.
And finally, you have the smaller things, like how the voice acting is... alright (but only alright), the character designs are horribly uninspired and clearly just went with "Whatever looks good aesthetically", and how the artists have an apparent allergy to colour.
That being said, this is judging it from the clips. The actual show might pull it together better, but my bets are on pic related.>>103389522
As far as I've seen, most of the threads are started by people who like the show.>>103389665
In contrast to what I just said, that clip is both reasonably clever and very well animated. It doesn't change my opinion though, because,
1: It's obviously had lot more work put into it than normal.
2: I straight-up can't tell what she's saying during the high-pitched part. Like, at ALL. Which I think says a lot about the production quality involved here.
