I mean, they can do whatever the fuck they want, but that doesn't mean you don't feel a bit embarrassed for them that they're being so open how much they hate their bodies.
It's also entirely possible to draw yourself as a large cute anime character. Having a round belly doesn't immediately make your design ugly.
