The weird thing with SU's fall was that it wasn't a slow natural decline that happens with all shows that were popular in their early days; until recently, SU was still very popular and it wasn't until they started doing awful shit like the Rose Quartz twist and redeeming the Diamonds that people went nuts.

I'm just a casual watcher, and I will continue to be because I get enjoyment out of it. 11-minute cartoons aren't some fucking life commitment or something.

star wars is barely alive. The once humongous fan base is now divided. Once the final movie in this sequel trilogy airs, Its all over. The fans will have their closure and I doubt people will be willing to go through another one. the spark which made it interesting will be gone. Disney will have milked it to its bare bones.

To be fair, this is also what happened with the prequels, but not to such an extent. Even then, Lucas sold it off instead of making anything else major with it, possibly because the franchise was too dead to wager a big project on.

I recently went through it after friends learned I enjoyed Houseki no Kuni. I was in a similar boat, but, on reflection, there were a few parts that stood out as great in the earlier parts and a lot that sort of blurred together. My biggest complaint is digging deeper into things and learning just how much of the show was lifted straight, sometimes shot-for-shot, from other shows that left me wondering what parts I enjoyed were just references to other works. The Cowboy Bebop reference with the video tape was the probably the biggest offender. Season three is definitely where things start to go South. For me, the peak was the second half of season 1 through season 2. Season 5 started to pick up a little towards the end, so hopefully that is a trend.

they're still massively expensive to produce, film, and market. If anything, the cutoff comes when the show stops being an episodic show about gems, townies and their shinnenigans, but starts pretendning to have a story.

Steven Universe is still CN's second most profitable IP and will keep going strong until it reaches a natural conclusion. We got a little peek of White Diamond's asshole and it gets millions of views on YouTube in a view days, along with 80 video essays about why the reveal was actually bad. Steven Universe was really popular from around 2015 to 2017. I'd argue it's still got popularity, but it has definitely cooled down a little. I blame that mostly on the slow as shit pace with the story, the airing schedule (2017 had the show's longest hiatus of nearly 6 months) and the disappointing conclusions to arcs.

how does it make a single bit of sense for a pizza place to have known murderous robots? why would they keep them at all? why keep covering up murdered security guards? why does a door need to be powered to stay shut? how do the robots have a portable never-ending power supply, but the restaurant connected to the mains power runs on a battery?
