Yeah! The camaraderie found here reminds me of the old addage that /co/ is love. With so much support for these threads coming out it actually makes me curious about jumping into the more popular shows that get regular discussion on this board. I might be missing out on meeting more cool people and experiencing equally quality discussion. But boy is it difficult for me to dedicate myself to watching a cartoon regularly unless it's adult oriented humor. My weakness.
As for Dil...he completely fails as a character for me on the level that he just isn't believable. He has a consistent and absurd internal logic that grows more pronounced as the series continues to rely on him to essentially be their deus ex machina. Dil can't be a natural part of life in this universe because he clashes so fiercely with it. It's an arguably minor detail as this is a cartoon. I understand that. But it is the minor details that characters and worlds are built and Dil spits in the face of what's been established.
I fail to see how he can be anyone's favorite character with the way he's been portrayed. You can just win the lottery as an aspect of everyday life and influence alien civilizations but you can't apply your skills to making your family and extended family happy? By extension, all of humanity? He's..
I'm at work right now and really can't go off into it but I sincerely question who the writers were doing this for, what their goals were with this series, how much of that got left on the editing room floor and what contributed to their decision to end the series the way they did. I'd love a movie properly wrapping all of this up. Make it in the vein of something like Bojack and I imagine it'll go over well.
