Magneto cares about mutant kind and its survival. He seen the worst that humanity(the Nazis) can do , but when he's bad , and killing he it seems that target humanity as a whole instead of people who kill mutants try to kill all mutants and are serious threat to all mutants, so if you're magneto and you want to use deadly force to protect mutants who were you kill.
