its a breath of fresh air in the sea of cape but it doesn't stand on its own. you can make your own watchmen yourself, take any genre you like, now apply real world logic to the standard tropes, then add some drama tropes because your story needs something to stand on.

game of thrones, a subversion of the whole heroe's jounrey, plays out like a soap opera rather than a fantasy adventure.
if you try creating stories of your own you'll realize subversion and deconstruction is the easiest thing possible and follows a formula of its own. its much harder to pull off the tropes regularly and have them stand out and not fade into genericness.
so while this scene is cool, a subversion of the villain monologue, once you know the formula you can create a thousand like it. take any trope and just subvert it.
