I am on episode 5 and I like it, this is first time I managed to not force myself to watch more than one episode since DD S2
I think I like everything except Joy and Danny. Joy is a vapid cunt, she doesn't make sense to me and fuck her shitting on Ward.
Danny is for the most part honestly ok, but it's like writers make a point to shit on him and make him dumb with no redeeming qualities. I think Finn Jones pulls off comedic scenes and action really well, I love seeing him hang out with Ward and Colleen and he had great chemistry with Mary too, I only want to see him be more friendly with Misty, I mean, she should push him in the bed by now and what we get is "Danny, you are making it extremely difficult to be your friend", fuck off. But that's besides the point, when he jobbed to Mary he got abducted by punks and everyone just kept shitting on him and he was basically a damsel in distress, it's like creators of the show want to ruin his image of protagonist. He shouldn't be bribing them, at least he didn't start buying them with the fact that he's Rand and you can't convince me they didn't consider him begging to release him. I know, it's supposed to be his lowest point, the problem is that they never gave us his highest point. It really should've went like: 1) Danny meditates and spits blood, thugs want to feed and give him water to make sure he doesn't die 2) Danny refuses to eat and drink and tells BB by not releasing him his death will be on their concious regardless if they fed him 3) it gets to BB's head, he pulls a gun on his cronies, releases Danny and gets him to Colleen. There, Danny is saved without actively trying to deface him.
I mean, I honestly don't blame Iron Fist haters too much, they never convinced us Danny earns things he likes to talk about, we never learn much about K'un-Lun except that they beat their children into martial artists. Use of flashbacks is necessary for the kind of story they are making and they use them incredibly sparingly.
