>>102808559I expected a fantasy version of Futurama.
After having watched it all it seems like they wanted to tell a story instead of just telling jokes.
I can't really call it a comedy.
If someone said
>They made a Hagar the Horrible cartoonI probably wouldn't have given it the time of day, but in the end that feels like what I had watched.
Personally I'd probably just have an episode introducing all the characters and then 9 fairly self contained fantasy stories loaded with jokes.
You get a bunch of writers in a room and bang it out in the same way they did Futurama, but with fantasy instead of SciFi.
I'd go with an exiled princess on an aimless journey.
She'd go to new places and that would allow for a fresh environment each time with some kind of central joke.
A fairly core problem is that Bean isn't necessarily an idiot the way Homer or Fry are.
To me the more proper thing to do would be to make her a dits.
I understand doing that in this day and age is unacceptable, but the show suffers because of it.
Not to harp on it but I feel the dynamic should mirror Futurama central trinity of characters.
Luci is fairly spot on as a stand-in for bender.
But Bean and Elfo aren't really double-act material and are instead almost taking turns in the Streight Man/Funny Man roles.
