>>102643483>society as a whole, mostly due to Lex's meddling,Did society as a whole suffered from amnesia since Man of Steel? Because the first introduction of Superman to the world wasn't very positive. The U.S military is still distrustful toward him by the end of the movie. And BvS doesn't do anything to tell us that there was a time after MoS and before Lex's meddling where the world wasn't wary toward Superman.
>the Martha scene which proves his humanity to Batman. That's what the screenwriter hoped it would do.
>The rest is all up to taste.I want you to remember Inception. That movie had a lot of informations to give its audience before the "heist" really begins at around 45 min in the movie. Those first 45 minutes of exposition are engaging, always moving forward. The spectator is compelled by what's happening on the screen and the main part of the story haven't started yet.
Now think about how BvS also had to dump a lot of informations before the actual confrontation at the 1h15 mark in the extended cut. Do you remember how devoid of momentum those 1h15 of movie were? How each scenes just happened one after another, with the only link being chronological order? You don't like this is going somewhere. You know it will lead to Batman and Superman fighting because that's what the movie is supposed to be about but all you get are informations pilling without any impact.
After the first confrontation, the movie acquires a momentum, some kind of urgency. And when it reaches its climax in tension: batman is ready to fight again, Lex just coerced Superman in killing Batman by taking his mother hostage; the place is set, Superman just have to get there and fight. Then, cut to Wonder Woman and 5 min of exposition dump about superheroes... And the tension is just gone.
Tell me against this is a well constructed script and it's a question of taste.
