Man I enjoyed this episode; it felt like the best one in a while. All the characters got to DO something satisfying, they used the plot threads about Ventech and the local heroes, and there were lots of nice natural quirks & touches for the characters (that's the part that really made me love this series in the first place).
It was an all-around fun episode that I'd be happy to rewatch in future. I honestly can't say that about most of S6 where the episodes didn't stand on their own so well. But Doc & Jackson are totally back in their stride on this one.
I was a little put off by how exposition-heavy the previous 2 episodes were, but this ep had great entertaining momentum. I'm pumped.
>>102553612Honestly I think that was a sly, self-aware joke about how they didn't want to waste time & effort animating a bunch of extras for that scene.
They've done similar low-key jokes in that vein before, like the end of "Careers In Science" when Rusty says something like "No need to hear everyone thank us, let's go!" just so they can wrap up the plot as quickly as possible. It's unnatural and silly but helps the story.
