I liked the Don Cheadle thing. You have to keep in mind that 90% of the audience aren't duckfags who think "Donald is best boy", they just think he's a tired old joke character with an unintelligible voice. For most viewers this show is the first exposure to "hey Donald Duck is actually a pretty cool dude."

This is one thing I never understand about people complaining about the new Ducktales, constantly saying how the crew must hate Donald, but they generally paint him as in the right, and everybody loves him.

Them not focusing on him is a shame, especially when Three Caballeros heavily focuses on him, but they aren't actively trying to ignore him while they maintain a mystery about his twin.

I agree, Don Cheadle isn't a voice actor and doesn't know how to use his voice to express anger, courage, or plain happiness. He's a good actor, but it's clear that he's used to using his body and facial expressions to convey his feelings and mood rather than his voice.

And Mickey Mouse is #1, but nobody gives a fuck about him as a cartoon character, he's just "the Disney mascot." The people this show is made for don't give two shits about these characters, they're definitely not tripping over themselves to watch because less coherent Daffy Duck is in it, and yet the creators still go out of their way to jerk you off over how great Donald is whenever he gets an ounce of focus.

Except that it wasn't from donald himself or a change he sought, it was a thing forced upon him just because people were getting annoyed. It would have worked if donald himself cleared his throat or taken the pill of his own volition because HE was getting frustrated at how people couldn't understand him. But it was forced on him, and made it an almost comedic change.
