>>102523566Anon, there's no way in hell Disney will suddenly twist Elsa into a dyke after more than half a decade of her having been marketed to kids (and their straight parents, who pay) as a "normal" heroine, i.e. not gay. She's too profitable, high-profile, established, and popular.
I've always thought that if / when Disney will start to include gay characters, they'll do it with all-new relatively minor characters who are established to be queer within the first movie they appear in, and not via some bullshit bait-and-switch where a main is introduced, left to gather popularity, and years later, once popular as assumed straight, retconned into gayness.
Lesbian Gal Gadot is there as a decoy or a consolation prize; to deflect the pressure, hype and disappointment over the dashed hopes of a gay Elsa. Now, they already have their first ever canon gay human character. She's even named, good, has speaking roles and appears in more than one scene. They gave the world the representation and the cool sexy gay "princess" everyone was baying for; in the movie-of-the-year released riiiiight before Frozen 2. Here you are!
It's a clever pre-emptive strike that'll take a lot of the wind out of the sails of people who'd have tried to scream homophobia when Elsa doesn't turn out to be gay (and maybe even gets a male love interest, pic related is from official Frozen merch).
Anyone whining after WiR2 because it's unfairrr TWO Disney animated features in a ROW don't have lesbian heroines will come across as whiny, spoiled and petty - and it'll be obvious it's not about the "representation", but wanting to have the most iconic and profitable Disney heroine in recent decades specifically to be made gay so you can wave her in the face of the icky straights. They're the sparkliest and most popular so you want THEM and only them
Well played, Disney. Now they appear progressive even while keeping their international cashcow franchise gay free.
