The look for Ben is basically perfect other than the tacticool costume, the cast is shit though. Whenever they're brought into the MCU I really hope they're given better costumes and Ben looks like that. Why is it so hard to make the FF?

Miller actually cared about the source material. Reynolds has probably never read a comic and thinks Deadpool is just an obnoxious wacky joke character. Completely oblivious to the badass assassin he was in the 90s.

Deadpool is a wacky joke character. Reynolds has been pushing Deadpool stuff for years before the movies, he clearly likes the character and gets him pretty well. I'm sure he's aware of the period he first appeared and was a completely generic and forgettable rip off and that would have rightfully been forgotten had better writers not come along and salvaged him.

Deadpool has been a quip machine since at least X-Force #2 when he was fighting Kane. I didn't read X-Force #1, I never opened the poly before I sold it. I don't know when he becomes She-Hulk and constantly breaks the fourth wall and deconstructs the genre.

As I understand it, he was the sole driving force behind the movie for years i.e. he was the one who cared to enough to keep trying to get it done. Without him, there is no Deadpool movie, so of course he has influence over it.
