>>102374999>>102375009>>102375028Nope, none of them hold a candle to the first Azrael, Jean-Paul Valley.
He starts his ongoing trying to destroy his former order, the Order of Dumas, with Sister Lilhy, another former member. Their relationship from the get-go is pretty toxic, with Lilhy blatantly manipulating his social awkwardness, insecurity, and mental instability to get him to do what she wants. Halfway through the ongoing, it's revealed that she's been seeing a drug baron behind his back, and the minute Jean-Paul grows a backbone and actually stands up for himself and stops blindly following her orders, she abruptly leaves him with the drug baron.
Literally three issues later, she shows back up in Jean-Paul's apartment and reveals that the drug baron turned out to be a violent domestic abuser who boned her so many times that he's grown bored of her, and that she's realized she's actually totally in to Jean-Paul instead and will totally shack it up with him instead...provided he agrees to help her get back some documents the drug baron stole from her, and the poor fucking sap goes along with it.
She disappears from the series when Jean-Paul decides to go back to Gotham for No Man's Land, only to return later and reveal that she's trying to re-create the Order of Dumas with her as the head, and goes back to her old ways of manipulating a clearly psychotic Jean-Paul to do what she wants. When he has a complete mental breakdown and tries to take control of the organization from her, her first response is to try to murder him,
and finally succeeds after several botched attempts, and completely gets away with it. Literally nobody in the bat-family cares that he got murdered.
