So I haven't seen this entire series, just some of it.

Can anybody give me a rundown on why Klance and Sheith fags are so psychotic and in such an uproar about these fucking ships? None of the episodes I saw had any indications whatsoever that these ships could possibly be canon.

I thought they were just crackships, but people are now melting down all over the fucking internet like somebody killed their puppy and their family all in one day to the point of claiming these cartoon crackships not becoming canon is single-handedly triggering mass lgbt suicides. Along with death threats and shit.

What the fuck did I miss? What the fuck is wrong with people? And why do people care so much about these imaginary characters and the imaginary couples some fans put them in? When I followed fandoms more closely years ago, "slash" fans didn't seem to expect or need their ships to actually happen and didn't get upset when the characters got together with other characters because it seemed to be expected. This seems just seems crazy.
