>>102279820>Honestly, don't be in a rush to leave unless you want to start a family immediately, as while you are at home you can save towards a nice deposit and nest egg. That goes out the window when you are trying to pay off a mortgage/rent and utilities/bills.It's funny you mention that first part because when I realized I didn't *have* to start a family a couple of years ago, I was relieved of a significant amount of stress. Still don't know if I want one, but it's definitely not a priority for me.
And yeah, I've been told that after I get a decently paying job, I should at least stick around with my parents for 6 months to year to save up, so I'm going to do my best and stick with it.
I keep trying to remind myself that my situation is not unusual, and that there are lot of others in my age gap in a similar situation, but it's still frustrating. I actually kinda ended up being the median age of my two local friend groups, with one group being younger than me (19 to 25) and the other being older (28 to 31). The younger friends are all in the same spot as me, but the older ones are all out of their parents' houses (although one is unemployed with a master's degree, and another is very overworked). Hopefully I can pass the threshold to match up with my older friends before 30.
