This. Why do you need an adaptation of a work you already like? To feel validated? To see a bunch of people who will never read the original act like they always loved it?
Adaptations are shit and 99% of the time don't measure up to the original.

The goon footage initially looked pretty good. Idk how it will be now that it's been in development hell, but the original animation captured the spirit and the art style pretty well imo

Because my imagination is never as good as the people that put all the thought into the movement and physics of things. I've never read a book or comic where I thought of all the little details that go into flying or swinging or picking up something heavy or the way the body moves and contorts during some kind of transformation, I really love it. I re read or read similar things differently after I see a movie in regards to "action" scenes. That's the main reason for me. But in all it's not worth seeing the rest of the adaption be absolute dog shit.

reminder that some animated series did this to some characters and are among their most praised stories (example:BTAS).

I think while only like .000001% of movie watchers get into the comics, 9/10 comics fans probably started with a movie or cartoon.

At a local assisted living facility there's a guy who just wonders the halls and rides the elevator up and down all day, telling jokes he got from a book for children someone got him years ago to anyone he runs into. As a Frenchman I surprisingly got into the Spider-Man comic basically before I was exposed to any cape material, I know this because I remember Spidey comics arcs before the animated series started. Maybe I had seen Batman 1989.
It's weird as a French to be that one kid who reads superhero comics.
