Is it just me or does Steve really suck at explaining things? Like when he was trying to explain to Blue and Yellow about how Pink was his mom. Why didn't he just say something like "I'm an organic-gem hybrid offspring of Pink and Greg"?

Whoever runs the interior workings of the zoo does have knowledge of human biology, but I don’t see why Blue or Yellow personally would bother to learn any of that nonsense. It’d be like expecting a politician to know how to repair a racecar.

tho to be fair, I have yet to see a fictional character give any good explanations to other characters for anything going on in the story. The only time they actually try to make an explanation make sense is if its a big info dump of exposition

I don't think it was miscommunication, I think Jasper just didn't believe him. Remember that a gem "is" their gem and their body is something completely malleable, so to Jasper it was basically the equivalent of Rose showing up in a fake mustache and saying "me llamo no Rose! Me llamo Jose".

And like... Jasper would have to accept the idea that Rose was literally being controlled by the fake mustache named Jose.
