>>102136669No, she is Gwen Poole. I was confused at first, too.
>>102137907It's really simple. At the end of the Infinity Wars, Thanos gave up looking for phenomenal cosmic power or attempting to destroy the universe, instead trying to find a new destiny for himself.
He died near the end of 'Annihilation' when Drax the Destroyer finally performed the function he was created for, and ripped Thanos' heart out. He was shown reunited with Death, content and finally fulfilled.
Years later, during 'TheThanos Imperative', Death returned him to life to oppose the threat of the Cancerverse, a universe where life had gone completely out of control after the Death of that universe had been destroyed. Although he managed to defeat the Cancerverse, Death - for reasons never explained - did not take him back, driving him to madness with rage. Although the Cancerverse collapsed, he still managed to escape.
Years later again, in 'Infinity', he returned in the role he had taken in his original appearance - a brutal cosmic warlord at the head of an army of killers. He was trapped inside a block of frozen time by his Inhuman son, Thane (don't ask) until Maximus the Mad broke him out to save the universe by destroying another one.
He joined forces with the Maker, an evil Reed Richards from another universe, and with his help ended up on Warworld after the Multiverse had been destroyed by the Beyonders.
He opposed God Doom and was destroyed, but returned without explanation after Secret Wars, now no longer in love with Death, but in allegiance with another force, weakly implied to be Oblivion. Nothing ever came of that.
He then had an awful, awful series of his own in which he was more vicious than ever before, and travelled to the edgiest of edgy futures in which he had killed all other living things, because he is So Deadly. After that, he hung around for a bit until he died just now at the hands of Gamora.
