>>102082666Both are actually pretty good.
The UK/Canada one by eOne is a pretty literal translation while the American English dub by The Weinstein Company is edited, but the visuals are intact so you can theoretically make an ultimate Blu-ray which has both the original French version with English subtitles along with both The Weinstein Company and eOne English dubs.
The Weinstein Company dub adds some baffling and interesting edits but is still okay.
And it's based off the eOne dub, which is pretty much a straightforward dub.
Many voice actors from the eOne dub are even brought back to redo some of their lines.
I actually prefer this dub because it's more interesting, some of the changes are pretty good, and the eOne dub is just a literal translation of the original French version.
If I want to watch the original French version (my preferred version), I'd watch the original French version.
However, the original French version's acting is much, much better.
Get that if you can somehow find a subbed version and you don't already live in France and Canada.
Be warned, if you don't speak French, the French Blu-ray has no English subtitles or dub so keep that in mind.
The Canadian Blu-ray does have both the French version, the English eOne dub and English subtitles.
The US and UK Blu-rays only contain The Weinstein Company dub and the eOne dub, respectively, with no option for a subbed French version.
If you want subtitles, the only English subtitle script available is a dubtitle script taken from the eOne dub and synchronised to the French audio.
It even has British spellings because it's taken from the UK Blu-ray of the eOne dub.
Sadly, fansubs don't exist for this movie but the eOne dubtitles are a pretty good translation and they change very little from what they're actually saying in the French version.
I don't need the subtitles anyway since I am fluent in both English and French among many other languages but I just like comparing the translations.
