While I can respect their message about agreeing to disagree, that doesn't change the fact that I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole episode, hoping and waiting for Penny's family to realize the true value of coming out of their shells and--to quote the episode when Penny did the same--"be themselves."
Something tells me the writers did this to not offend any particular religions seeing as the shells were clearly metaphors.
