It really depends on what country you live in, where you live in that country, and self-discipline. I tried making music and art a great amount of time because I actually wanted to be good, but still my skills are below the level of 12 year olds who are good for their age. While I wasn't a math purist or anything, all my attempts result in mediocre results with far above average study time.

She's smart with her NASA job being proof of that, which will translate to faster improvement than the average in anything she has in interest in. It's not like she's an amazing artist, but is good enough to competently draw out her comic ideas and never had a need to improve past that since it's just a hobby.
The idea that people have 'different intelligences' is a misconception since chances are if someone does well in one area that requires intelligence they'll also do well in another if they ever choose to apply themselves there. For those people, only their natural preferences and time are the main limits.

Same here. It's easy to recognize a teen going through the same artistic ideas & phases you had at that age. Imitating other artists and tweaking them little by little until you break through and define your own style.

I don't think that's happened at all: Social media (specifically social media tied around irl personalities a la Facebook/Instagram) has just made it easier to pretend/appear to be that kind of person and more rewarding to do so. A skinnerbox of "degeneracy", so to speak. In the opposite example, anonymous forums a la 4chan but even sites with names a la Tumblr or Reddit are the opposite. They reward extremes as well, but more in the sense of opinions and behaviors. 4chan rewards extreme contrarianism and trolling, Reddit rewards cocksucking and circlejerking, Tumblr rewards hugboxes and reactionaries.

And Twitter and Tinder are straight up, actually, unironically destroying the foundations of society from the ground up.

Not the anon you are quoting, but I think the accomplishment he was talking about was more about getting to college, becoming a rocket engineer and have a rather popular webcomic on the side. That sound like a legit accomplishment to me.
