i mean to say that in the past 2D has done nothing. he got hit by a car in phase 1 and recruited into the band. phase 3 and 4 he got kidnapped. he's not the one making anything happened.
murdoc is facing actual, external conflict. getting into fights / starting "movements" / investigating demons. 2D's supposed "conflict" is internal if anything, and i doubt that its even that. all the evidence so far that he might be missing murdoc or something feels like fanfic, why tf would he miss him? and he hasnt given us any clue to it if he is in interviews. we only have drawings in the journal. that being said, i do hope that they do something with 2D this time.
im not complaining about them not doing anything with murdoc. did you read my post? i said that theyre doing far more with murdoc so far this phase than they have with anyone else. and this phase isnt about murdoc going to jail (phase 2 wasnt either but i digress), its about him breaking out of it, and why el meirda framed him in the first place.
