I can see there point There's really an argument to be made about portraying Revan as the "Joan of Arc" of Star Wars. The mask, especially, allows you to do so many interesting things regarding her identity, split personality, public perception vs reality...
You can perfectly start the journey with a fragile, frighten amnesiac woman who learns about who/what she is (and doesn't believe it at first, just like the viewers... or my mom when she watched TPM with me and learned that the little kid would become Vader)...
... And then make her wear the mask (which actually is the "Revan" character, in the mind of every fan) to slowly dehumanize her as she regains her memory, in order to "merge" the two identities (the weak woman we started the journey with and the masked, ruthless legend).
That'd be my take on the character.
