>Hans' personality shift was because of the same magic that was killing Ana, icy troll magic. He did have plans to hook up for abdication, but the idea of murder wasn't on the surface of his plans until after he touched Ana and his heart froze over (Cut through the heart, cold and clear!/Strike for love and strike for fear!/There's beauty and there's danger here/Split the ice apart!/Beware the frozen heart...)
>the Troll Mirror is the source of Elsa's power, like the original snow magic, and lots of other people across the region over the centuries, which is why Elsa's father had a book to consult for their power
>Elsa gets called by another Snow Queen to lands further north, in an offer to expand her training, explore how the magic is affected by her emotion and physical state
>Elsa runs into another with magic, maybe fire because everyone's expecting fire princesses so how about a fire guy, who wears thick winter clothes, and later we find out is Hans summoned by SQ too (changed from his time north/with Elsa)
>SQ's plan involves using the mirror-touched as an army to move against lands that shunned her centuries ago by corrupting Elsa's emotional state, or maybe something else idk, point is Elsa and Hans have to work together to defeat her and get out, ala OG SQ story
>Maybe the sacrifice is that the mirror also shows everyone touched like her, so when she destroys it she loses the chance to find more magic-touched like her (give some sort of XMen-ish land-trekking idea if we want to make a Frozen series)
>Hans redemption story (for all he did, he didn't really kill anyone or ruin lives for years like other twist villains, so why not?) tied to becoming friends by circumstance with Elsa, and the story's about forgiveness and the weight of past grievances and what happens if you don't 'Let it Go'
>throw the gays a bone, imply Elsa's attracted to the Snow Queen, or hell, flip expectations, HANS is the bi one
Stream of consciousness ideas, not really thought out.
